Get Your Fireplace Ready For Winter
Get Your Fireplaces Ready For The Utah Winter
Gas Fireplaces, Wood burning fireplace stoves, and gas fireplace inserts need servicing before winter comes. In this video, see Josh show what you can do to get your Utah fireplaces ready for the cold winter season. A little service and maintenance can do much to make your fireplace operate more efficiently, and keep your home warmer during the next few cold months.
Follow these fireplace maintenance 6 steps for maximum heating benefits:
1. Clean the fireplace glass to remove soot, to allow for complete heat effects.
2. Gas fireplaces should have their fan and air passages cleaned.
3. The fireplace vents should be checked, to make sure that they are clear and working properly.
4. The fireplace millivolt output should be checked and adjusted. The self generating millivolt system, common to the Napoleon Gas Fireplaces that we install, operate during a power failure, independent from any outside electrical current.
5. The fireplace logs should be cleaned of dust and dirt.
6. Carbon monoxide detector batteries should be changed.
